Finance Business Partner

Full Time
Located on The Parade, Norwood

As the Finance Business Partner, you will report to the Council’s Chief Financial Officer and work with the Finance Unit and across the organisation to deliver strategic financial outcomes associated with the organisation’s financial management and budget. This role will provide high-quality financial advice, financial modelling, accounting services, financial business improvements and support across the organisation. 

The Finance Business Partner will provide a conduit between the Finance Unit and the broader organisation and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Deliver strategies and goals related to financial performance of the Business Units 
  • Assist in coordinating budgeting and forecasting 
  • Prepare relevant financial reports 
  • Undertake financial analysis 
  • Identifying business improvement opportunities 
  • Provide financial advice 
  • In addition, you will also be required to assist in preparing Council’s annual budget and provide advice as well as prepare budget reports for the Executive Leadership Team as requested.  

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role, you will have: 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Finance,  Accounting (Essential). 
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in a Finance or Accounting related position.  
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in a proactive manner. 
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in MS office. 
  • Financial modelling skills. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Experience in Local Government will be advantageous but is not essential.
