Annual salary of $97,453.85 - $101,761.94 + Statutory Superannuation
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study and visit.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Development & Regulatory Services, the Development Officer, Building is responsible for assessing Development Applications, undertaking Building and Compliance inspections, assisting to implement resolutions of the Council’s Building Fire Safety Committee, liaising with applicants and external organisations in relation to development matters and acting as a reference point for staff in respect to providing expert advice on building matters.
About You
To be successful in this position you will possess the following skills and experience:
• Accreditation or be eligible to be accredited as a Building Level 1 - 3 Accredited Professional under the State Government Accreditation Scheme.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the Building Code of Australia, the Planning Development & Infrastructure Act 2016, Work, Health & Safety Act, 2012 and other related codes and standards.
• Highly developed Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Great time management and high level of competence with relevant computer applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with staff, the public and Government Agencies, both verbally and in writing.
• Well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
