Whether you have experience in volunteering or are just starting out, the Council welcomes your interest in its volunteering program.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, please complete our volunteer enquiry form or give us a call.
Please note, when you click on the Volunteer Application Form button you will be directed to a login screen. You will be asked to enter a unique username to identify yourself to our online Volunteer System. Once you have logged in to our system you can complete the application form.

Volunteer Journey
The following provides an overview of the volunteers journey, from registering your interest in a program, applying for a volunteer vacancy, and what you can expect as a Council volunteer.

Apply or register your interest
Number
When you apply online you will create a profile and either apply for a specific role or register a general expression of interest.
Registering your interest is an opportunity for you to tell us a little about yourself and why you want to volunteer.

Volunteer meeting
Number
Once you have completed and submitted your registration our Coordinator, Volunteer Services will be in contact to invite you to an in-person meeting.
At the meeting you will find out more about the role(s) you are interested in and about volunteering with the Council. -
Pre-placement checks
Number
We will perform the required government screening checks and reference checks prior to placement.
Screening volunteers is an important step in the recruitment process and may include reference checks as well as the formal background checks provided by a Police Check and or a Working with Children (WWC) Check.
The Council will pay for any required screenings. -
Volunteering
Number
The Council will support you in your role and provide opportunities for training and feedback.
You will also be recognised for your service and achievements through the Mayor's Volunteer Christmas Dinner, Volunteers Week Celebrations and Volunteer Service Milestones. -
Stop or take a break
Number
Life can change and volunteering is a choice. You can resign or take a break from volunteering at any time.
