Economic Development Strategy 2021-2026 CoverThe Council has developed an Economic Development Strategy which will guide sustainable local economic growth over the next five years to deliver positive outcomes for the economy, and social and cultural sustainability within the City.

Defining an economic development strategy with clear direction and focus provides the foundation to ensure the successful longevity of the City’s business and economic sector.

Included in the 2021-2026 Economic Development Strategy is a strong vision which is supported by four key themes, all of which aim to achieve growth in the local business sector, promote the City as a destination with dynamic and vibrant precincts, as well as encourage innovation and investment—while at the same time making it easy for people to start, own and grow a business.
