Cultural Heritage Program

Register your interest for Cultural Heritage Program

The Cultural Heritage Program is supported by volunteers at the St Peters Cultural Heritage Centre.

Volunteers help with a range of duties associated with preparing publications and specialist events, which include SA History Week, Cultural Heritage Festival and various History Tours.

Collection maintenance may include:

  • accessioning and registering
  • cleaning and conservation
  • retrieval and storage
  • research of the provenance of items
  • cataloguing of archival materials.

Administrative tasks may include:

  • filing, maintenance of files and updating files in the history subject and biography archival collection
  • maintaining and updating street archival files
  • assisting with the repacking and housing of objects used in displays and exhibitions
  • assisting with historical guided tours
  • assisting with major historical events.
