In 2022, the Council received $889,000 as part of Phase 3 of the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. The Council is using this funding to replace the existing clubroom and toilets with a fit-for-purpose building to support tennis, netball and other recreation activities at the Reserve.
The new facilities will include:
- a clubroom
- a canteen
- two change rooms with showers and toilets
- equipment storage
- two external public toilets.
Cruickshank Reserve, located in Phillis Street, Maylands, currently contains tennis and netball playing courts, a playground, small clubroom and toilets. The courts are leased to the Maylands Sports Centre and used by the St Peters Tennis Club and the Gems Netball Club.
