Syd Jones Reserve is one of 69 parks and reserves in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

The Syd Jones Reserve Upgrade included:

  • a central playground
  • replacement of the tennis courts with a new multi-purpose hard surface
  • new shelter and barbecue
  • new toilet
  • new pathways, seating and lighting throughout
  • additional landscaping.


Project details

Situated between Firle and Payneham South, Syd Jones Reserve is in the perfect spot to provide residents of these growing communities a space in which to enjoy some fresh air and recreation.

Following two rounds of community consultation, the Council endorsed a concept plan for the new look Syd Jones Reserve in March 2019.

The upgrade has turned the reserve into a quality space for residents, visitors and families to enjoy.

The building used by the Table Tennis Academy has remained, and a new outdoor table tennis has been installed outside to encourage more people to get involved.
