Reverie is a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts. It means a daydream. This collection of works by artist, Sonali Patel, meditates on the illusory state where dreams and reality merge. The paintings decipher how our environment shapes us and how we embody our environment.
Using abstraction as an artmaking language with reference to environmental and social contexts, these paintings will hover between absence and presence, concealment and revelation.

Atmospheric layers of highly gestural and textured brushstrokes and rich colour fields referencing specific memories evoked from reveries will grace the canvas, wooden panels and ceramic surfaces.
