The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has welcomed the exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Santos Tour Down Under and host the City's first ever women's start.

Since the event was launched in 1999, the Santos Tour Down Under has delivered strong economic benefits to the South Australian communities and regions who host this iconic event.

Women's Hyundai Stage 3 - Norwood to Campbelltown, 126.5km: Monday 19 January 2026 - 11.10am

Stage 3 of the women’s race marks an exciting milestone as it starts in Norwood for the very first time.

Riders will take on a spectacular route through the picturesque Adelaide Hills, showcasing towns like Gumeracha, Birdwood, Mount Torrens, and Lobethal, before climbing through Lenswood and up the challenging Fox Creek ascent.

A major highlight of the stage is the double ascent of the infamous Corkscrew Road—an unprecedented feature in the history of both the men’s and women’s Santos Tour Down Under.

The stage concludes on Maryvale Road, adjacent to the oval, offering fans an exciting and scenic vantage point to witness a dramatic finish.

“This is the first time we’ve started the women’s race in Norwood so are expecting big crowds and a fantastic atmosphere before the riders embark on a stunning race route highlighting the beauty of the Adelaide Hills."

“The feature of the stage is seeing the bunch race up Corkscrew Road twice, which has never been done in any men’s or women’s TDU before."
